Life — Privacy Policy

1. Information We Collect

When you sign up for Life, we collect:

• Account information — your name, email address, and password (auth provider: Supabase)
• Profile information — full name, address, phone number, and avatar (optional)
• Household data — names of household members you add
• Your content — tasks, bills, subscriptions, appointments, contacts, calendar events, shopping list items, documents, and messages you store in the app
• Contacts you import — if you choose to import contacts from your device, the contacts you import (name, email, phone) are uploaded to your private Life account. We ask for your explicit consent in the app before any contact is uploaded, and you can delete them at any time.
• AI interactions — when you use Life AI, AI Shopping, or AI budget insights, your request and relevant account content (such as tasks, bills, calendar events, shopping items and notes) are sent to Google (Gemini) to generate a response. We ask for your explicit consent in the app before any data is sent to the AI provider.

1a. AI Features and Third-Party AI Processing

Our AI features (Life AI, AI Shopping, and AI budget insights) rely on Google's Gemini API. When you use these features, the text of your request together with relevant information from your account is transmitted to Google to generate the response. Google processes this data solely to return a result to you and is contractually required to provide protections equivalent to those described in this policy. We obtain your consent in the app before sending any data, and you can simply not use the AI features if you prefer not to share this data.

2. How We Use Your Information

Your data is used exclusively to provide and improve the Life app service, including:

• Managing your personal and household tasks and reminders
• Processing AI-powered chat and shopping assistance via Google Gemini
• Storing and organizing your documents and files (via Supabase Storage)
• Processing payments and subscription management via Stripe
• Sending emails you compose through our verified email delivery provider, Resend
• Sharing data with household members you invite (at your direction)

3. Third-Party Services

We use trusted third-party services to power Life:

• Supabase — database, authentication, and file storage (servers in the EU)
• Google Gemini — AI processing for Life AI and AI Shopping features
• Google OAuth — signing in via your Google account
• Google Drive — optional file import (only when you authorize it)
• Stripe — payment and subscription processing
• Vercel — web hosting and CDN
• Resend — transactional delivery of emails you explicitly compose and send
• RevenueCat — subscription receipt validation and entitlement management for iOS and Android. RevenueCat receives an app account identifier and purchase/subscription history. Payment card details are processed by Apple or Google and are not received by Life App or RevenueCat.

Each third-party service has its own privacy policy. We encourage you to review them.

4. Data Storage and Security

Your data is stored on Supabase infrastructure. Files are stored in private buckets accessible only to your account. All data in transit is encrypted using TLS/SSL. Passwords are hashed using bcrypt.

5. Data Sharing

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with third parties for their marketing purposes. We only share data with third-party service providers strictly necessary to operate Life (see section 3 above).

When you invite household members, you choose which data to share with them.

6. Your Rights

You have full control over your data. You can:

• Access and update your profile at any time in the Settings page
• Delete your account and all associated data by contacting us
• Export your data — contact us to request a full data export
• Revoke Google OAuth access at any time via your Google Account settings

If you are in the EU/EEA, you also have rights under GDPR including the right to erasure and the right to data portability. Contact us to exercise these rights.

7. Data Retention

We retain your account data for as long as your account remains active. If you delete your account, your data is deleted within 30 days, except where retention is required by law (e.g., for tax records via Stripe transactions, which are kept for 7 years as required by Irish tax law).

8. Cookies

Life uses session cookies strictly necessary for authentication (managed by Supabase). We do not use advertising or tracking cookies.

9. Children's Privacy

Life is not intended for use by children under 16. We do not knowingly collect data from minors.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by posting the updated policy in the app and updating the "Last updated" date above.
